Pin Valley National Park is located in the breathtakily beautiful mountain ranges of the Himalayan kingdom in Himachal Pradesh. This national park is famous for its wildlife and rich vegetation. The Pin Valley National Park was established in 1987 and covers an area of around 675 km. The region is a cold desert region comprising of rugged mountain terrain, rocky hills, and scenic landscape.
The Pin Valley National Park is situated at an altitude of 3500 meters above sea level, and is home of many wild animals that is able to deal the cold climatic conditions of the region. Some of the wildlife found in this region includes the snow leopard, ibex, red fox and blue sheep and many species of birds like the chukar partridge, Tibetan snowfinch and Himalayan snowcock.

To visit Pin Valley National Park the best time is from May to October when the climatic conditions are pleasant and the roads are accessible. Also, during these period you can easily spot the wildlife and it is perfect for trekking.
To reach the Pin Valley National Park tourists will have to reach Kaza first from Shimla or Manali. From Shimla, the route is via the Kinnaur Valley and from Manali the route is via Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass.

Dhankar Monastery is one of the oldest monasteries situated at the top of a cliff and offers breathtaking views of the Spiti and Pin River.

Chandratal Lake is situated a bit faraway from Kaza, it is located at a height of around 4300 feet above sea level. As the name suggests the shape of the lake is in moon shape.
