By Train

Manali does not have railway station of its own, so to reach Manali by train is a tedious task.

You must first reach the nearest railway station, Joginder Nagar Railway Station, which is around 162.6 km away from Manali.

Another important thing, Joginder Nagar Railway Station does not have direct rail links to other major Indian cities. 

You will have to first board a train to Pathankot and then switch to another train for Joginder Nagar Railway Station. From there, you have to take a taxi to Manali, which takes around 4.5 to 5 hours.

Alternatively, if you’re considering traveling by train, from other parts of India, Chandigarh Railway Station is approximately around 315 km from Manali. From Chandigarh Railway Station, you can take a cab or bus. 

Chandigarh Railway Station is well-connected to major Indian cities like Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, Jaipur, and more. The road journey from Chandigarh Railway Station to Manali will take around 8 to 8.5 hours.
