Namgyal Monastery Near Dharamshala

Namgyal Monastery is located near Dharamshala, it is around 3.7 km to reach Namgyal Monastery from Dharamshala, and will take around 17 minutes to reach. This monastery was established in 1575 by Dalai Lama 3rd and is currently the personal monastery of Dalai Lama 14th. It is one of the most significant monasteries because it is the study center of the Buddhist monks, still preserving and promoting the teachings of Tibetan Buddhism.
The monastery is located in one of the most breathtaking locations, surrounded by the majestic mountain ranges, the green valleys, the dense forests covering the region and the serene environment perfect for meditation and for gaining spiritual experience. Visitors are allowed to interact with the monks, know about the religious activities, daily prayers, ritual ceremonies and debates.
